160 km from Marrakech, this is one of the most beautiful sites in the Middle Atlas, where sumptuous waterfalls, surrounded by an almost permanent rainbow, plunge from a height of 110 m into a basin of limestone rocks amidst lush vegetation. It is possible to swim at the foot of the waterfalls, accessible via a shaded path dotted with olive trees.
At the top of the waterfall, just a stone’s throw from the impressive chasm, are a dozen ancient grain mills, still in operation thanks to the water from the torrent. At dusk, you can see entire families of monkeys frolicking in the carob trees, those large trees with delicious fruit that they love. A hundred Barbary macaques, with beige fur and eyes ringed with a black line, have taken up residence in the cliff caves.
