The bleu perle of the Atlantic ocean essaouira was discovered by the Phoenicians, who settled there. It was later conquered by Rome and Portugal. Before the end of the 15th century, the Portuguese had built the commercial and military port of Mogador (present-day Essaouira). This port is located at the foot of the city walls.
Along the way, we’ll pass through many fields of Argan trees, which produce the nuts used to make the famous Argan oil, used in both cooking and cosmetics. You’ll have the chance to see goats perched on the Argan trees… and visit a real women’s cooperative that produces genuine Argan.
